My child was given Mylan 00378815601 as an genetic drug for Concerta instead of what he had been taking from the manufacturer Mallincklodt. The difference was day and night.

All the progress he made under Mallincklodt was loss - its like his wheels feel off. It broke my heart to see the decline. The Pharmaist said the pills were the same in fact he said this pill was better for my son because it was FDA approved and the other one was not.

However, this was clearly not better then the previous genetic and clearly did not work better for him. Luckily, his doctor was able to make sure the Mylan genetic for Concerta will never be used again for my son.

Concerta is a mind-altering prescription drug with the active ingredient being methylphenidate. If the generic of Concerta made by Mylan consists of methylphenidate then the only difference should be in the "fillers"---inactive ingredients.

There should thus be no difference in actions and effectiveness between the two. If you insist on drugging a child for some reason, you might talk to your physician and advise him of your perceptions concerning this issue.
