Estradiol patch

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The estradiol patch 0.1 weekly is a joke. The foam backing is too thick, and the patch is too large for a small woman 5'2' and 125 lbs.

There is hardly anywhere on my lower body to attach it. The patch is substandard in that it hardly lasts one day, and I am getting little (if any) medication from it.

After complaints from millions of women, I would suppose the product would be modified and improved; I have spent money on little more than a placebo. This product should not be on the market.

Loss:
$64
Cons:
  • Very little medication in patch
  • Does not stick

Preferred solution: Full refund

AI Highlights
  • - Unclear how to use the product with name on the box; spent over an hour finding a working support number and the callback went to the wrong number.

I have a simple question about the most effective way to use the product with your name on the box that the pharmacist does not seem able to answer. I've spent over an hour trying to research a working phone number for you only to be told by the automated system that they would call me back on a number that was not and never has been my phone number. Then I'm told I need to carry the phone around for 24 hours to ensure I'll get a return phone call which I seriously doubt will ever happen.

Cons:
  • Price and customer support

Preferred solution: Accurate information for how to use the product most effectively

User's recommendation: Ask your doctor to prescribe another brand.

Estradiol patch doesn't seem right

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - This brand was given at my last refill.
  • - Breasts started hurting severely with Mylan, raising dosage or release concerns.
  • - I do not recommend this brand.

I was given this brand for the first time at the last refill. I have taken estradiol patches for several years without any issues.

With Mylan, my breasts started hurting quite severely.

I wonder if the dosage is not correct or if the patch is not releasing the dosage correctly. I do not recommend this brand.

Cons:

Impossible blister packaging

AI Highlights
  • - Tapentadol blister packaging is thick and hard to open, painful for arthritic fingers.

Don't bother, don't waste your time with Mylan, they take your advice, then continue what they're doing with zero regards for their consumers.

Original review Jun 26, 2025

I contacted Mylan maybe 3 months ago regarding their terrible blister packaging on Tapentadol tablets. Its impossible to get them out without breaking them.

I'm arthritic they really hurt my fingers because the blister are soooo thick. They said they would look into it but haven't, just fobbed me off.

I'm going to change pharmacy so I won't have to use them! Poor customer service!

ESTRADIOL METAL TUBE OOZE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Metal estradiol tubes ooze when opened, wasting product.
  • - Seeks plastic tubes to reduce ooze and ways to minimize waste.
Mylan - ESTRADIOL METAL TUBE OOZE

I probably WASTED 1/3 of my first tube of Estradiol due to the constant, FAST oozing of this product EVERY TIME I removed the cap. I'd be desperately trying to attach the applicator with the cream oozing all over my fingers every time.

I'm supposed to use 1-gm twice weekly and the tube is supposed to last 90 days (Ha!).

The pharmacist overrode whatever limit my insurance put in place (this one time) for tube #2, but warned BC/BS (Federal) would not be happy about it. My pharmacist told me metal tubes of creams/ointments are always "exploding" in the pharmacy... So why do you use them?

For the record, I ALWAYS have problems with prescription medicines in metal tubes: Teramycin for my cat (Negotiating the ooze, trying to get it into his TWO eyes, being clawed to bits. Good times), Tretinoin (Which I CAN still use because I let the stuff ooze into a seperate container to use next time).

However, I can't "rescue" oozed-out Esradiol because, how would I get it into the applicator? All that expensiveproduct is just wasted. It's nuts.

If you were to put Estradiol in the same soft, pliable plastic tubes most otc creams & ointments use, what would be the harm?

I have been all over social media forums about this and EVERYONE hates the metal tubes for the same reason.

In the meantime, could you PLEASE tell me how to at least to MINIMIZE the unwanted oozing before I start tube #2 and BC/BS refuses to cover this medicine for me? I'm already panicking about opening it.

PLEASE & THANK YOU

Pros:
  • Make a great cream
Cons:
  • Put the product in metal tubes equals ooze

Preferred solution: Action

User's recommendation: Tell them you want them to ditch the metal tubes!

  • - They were told all information must be provided to get the expiry date.

I was told in order to get the expiration date of a flea and tick medication tube I would have to supply all types of information to them. I said, I would not provide additional personal information that it was not my fault there was no date available , they said they could not help me then which was rediculous. Advisement

AI Highlights
  • - Patches didn't adhere for 7 days.
  • - Shower twice daily; 2 of 4 patches lost.

Updated by user Aug 31, 2024

I have not been provided a resolution to the continuing problem of my patches not adhering.

Original review Aug 01, 2024
This is NOT a complaint. I love my patches because I don't have to concern myself with a daily pill.
I am writing to notify you that the last 2 boxes of Clonidine Transdermal System, USP patches that I love have been not adhered to my skin for the entire 7 day period. I take 2 showers a day and I've lost 2 of the 4 patches, which presents a problem with my pharmacy because it forces me to exceed my prescribed dosage.
Please advise how I can ensure the patch will adhere because I use the adhesive cover that comes with the medication and both the patch and the cover do not stick.
Thank you.

Left a ring of rash on my skin . Product too big and does not stay on skin .

This product is not a good product. You put a patch on and the patch sweats underneath your skin therefore comes off after one day of use.

You have already given me a free box which I appreciate but this is not a good product. And now I'm left with a itchy red rash on my belly.

User's recommendation: Make a smaller one and improve the adhesive
